Stephen Barton-King was most recently an Assistant Editor of Blast Film’s, Night Coppers (S2). Before joining Blast, Stephen was an offline editor for MBC Group’s popular show, Scoop with Raya. Stephen edited Scoop with Raya for seven years before leaving in 2023 to become a freelance editor.
Stephen’s background is in drama. After graduating from Portsmouth University with a degree in English and Creative Studies, he moved to Manhatten, USA. There he began a year-long production internship at the largest Off-Broadway theatre, the Joseph Papp Public Theatre. He then returned to the United Kingdom and studied Stage Management and Technical Theatre at the Guildford School of Acting. After graduating, he worked in the West End on Guys and Dolls, starring Ewan McGregor and Patrick Swayze, Alan Bennett’s The History Boys, and the National Theatre's production of Warhorse.
In 2016, Warhorse closed and Stephen decided to pursue a career in post-production. He went on to assist on two independant feature films as well as become a successful short-form editor. His client list includes CTVC, Vice, Jamie Oliver and Endemol Shine UK.
Stephen lives in London with his wife and three children.
